Happy holidays to one and all! Do you know the history of Santa Claus? Santa Claus—otherwise known as Saint Nicholas or Kris Kringle—has a long history steeped in Christmas traditions. Today, he is thought of mainly as the jolly man in red who brings toys to good girls and boys on Christmas Eve, but his story stretches all the way back to the 3rd century, when Saint Nicholas walked the earth and became the patron saint of children.
Flash forward to 1981 and the Reagan White House. President and Mrs. Reagan had many friends, and, of course, Santa Claus was among them! When Santa was too busy to attend a White House Christmas party, many of the Reagan’s famous friends filled in for him.

No one in popular American music has recorded for so long and at such a high level of excellence as Tony Bennett. In the last ten years alone, he has sold ten million records.  He has performed for eleven U.S. Presidents, is a World War II veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, participated in the liberation of a concentration camp, and marched side by side with Dr. Martin Luther King in Selma to support civil rights. The United Nations has named him a Citizen of the World one of their foremost ambassadors.

In this edition of Reagan and Friends, we take a look at the life of the United Kingdom's longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as her relationship with President Reagan.

This edition of Reagan and Friends is dedicated to Vin Scully, the legendary Voice of the Dodgers from 1950 to 2016. He passed away on August 2, 2022 at the age of 94. Years before Ronald Reagan was elected governor of California, he and Nancy were neighbors and close friends with Vin Scully. Their friendship persisted throughout their lives.

With Nancy Reagan's centennial year drawing to a close, we'd like to take this month's Reagan and Friends to celebrate the life and legacy of the beloved First Lady, mother, actress and activist.
